JOB TITLE: Senior AIR QUALITY Scientist

LOCATION: DENVER, CO OR REGIONAL

CDH Consulting is seeking a senior level Air Quality Scientist to join our growing Air Quality team.  This position will support new and existing air quality permitting and compliance projects in the U.S. oil and gas upstream and midstream markets.

primary responsibilities:

▪ Manage client air compliance and permitting programs for oil and gas sites.

▪ Provide guidance to clients for site design/operations to ensure compliance with regulations.

▪ Act as a liaison between clients and regulatory agencies.

▪ Coordinate client and staff schedules for field work and LDAR (leak detection and repair) monitoring programs.

▪ Conduct QAQC of other team members’ calculations and reports, providing constructive feedback.

▪ Conduct air emissions calculations for permitting, emissions inventories, annual compliance reporting, and greenhouse gas reports.

▪ Prepare and submit air permit applications to state and federal agencies.

▪ Be the expert in state, federal, tribal, and local air compliance and permitting regulations and assist clients in implementing operational and reporting requirements.

▪ Periodic short-duration travel to client field sites to conduct site inspections and support air monitoring programs may be required.

▪ Run emissions and dispersion modeling software (such as BRE ProMax and AERMod).

▪ Work independently in a remote home-office environment, with up to two days per week working with the air quality team in a co-working space.

Required Skills and Experience:

▪ 6+ years of experience in air quality permitting and compliance, more experience preferred.

▪ Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental science, or related field required.

▪ Professional demeanor, strong technical writing skills, and experience writing technical reports.

▪ Proficient in MS Suite, particularly in Excel, Word, and Visio.

▪ Strong attention to detail and able to follow specific directions on tasks.

▪ Team player; receptive to feedback and open to constructive criticism.

▪ Ability to read through complex state and federal regulations to determine applicability to varying client facilities and scenarios.

▪ Direct experience with state and federal environmental regulations, such as greenhouse gas (GHG) reporting and common air pollutants (both criteria and hazardous).

▪ Experience with managing projects, meeting budgets, and being the main point of communication for client contact.

▪ Must have experience working with the EPA and with one or more of the following state’s environmental agencies: Colorado, Wyoming, New Mexico, Texas, Utah, or North Dakota.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

▪ $100,000 to $135,000 per year

Actual pay may be more or less than the posted range, depending on numerous factors, including experience, geographical location, market conditions, education/training and skill level, and does not include bonuses, other forms of compensation or benefits
